I n следующее Русскому следующее могут соответствовать в английском языке существительное the following, прилагательное following и глагольное сочетание as follows. Существительное the following употребляется сразу после глагола в функции прямого дополнения: to say (to write, to hear, to bring, etc) the following — сказать (написать, услышать, принести и т.д.) следующее. В функции определения к существительному, предшествуя ему, употребляется прилагательное following:

to remember the following words (to read the following pages) — вспоминать следующие слова (прочитать следующие страницы);

on the following day — на следующий день.

В остальных случаях употребляется as follows:
